    Le vignoble du Château Laroque est un véritable écrin de biodiversité, situé sur les coteaux de Saint-Émilion. Les vignes, âgées en moyenne de 30 ans, s'épanouissent sur des sols argilo-calcaires qui favorisent la rétention d'eau tout en apportant une minéralité subtile aux vins. Le climat océanique tempéré de la région, avec ses étés chauds et ses hivers doux, permet une maturation optimale des raisins. La gestion attentive du vignoble, alliant traditions et techniques modernes, permet de préserver la santé des vignes tout en garantissant une qualité exceptionnelle des raisins.

    Owner and history

    The vineyard covers 61 hectares of old vines propagated through massal selection. The grape varieties include Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, some over 50 years old. The vineyard is situated on a plateau of chestnut and red clay over limestone containing asterias fossils. There are also terraces and slopes on very light, fine, bluish clay.

    Vinification and aging

    - Hand-harvested grapes
    - Gravity-fed vatting of whole berries.
    - Vinification by plot in concrete tanks.
    - Aged in barrels and casks, 50% new wood.
    - First racking after 4 to 6 months of aging.
