The vineyard of Château Le Pin extends across carefully selected plots, where the vines, averaging 30 years old, benefit from clay-gravel soil that promotes optimal grape ripening. climat The region's temperate oceanic climate allows for slow and gradual ripening, guaranteeing the full expression of aromas and flavors. The soil's biodiversity also contributes to the complexity of the wines, which faithfully reflect their terroir of origin.

Owner and history

In the heart of the Pomerol plateau, Le Pin has been owned by Jacques Thienpont since 1979. The vineyard today comprises seven parcels totaling just two hectares. The estate is planted entirely with Merlot on clay-gravel and sandy-gravel soils with traces of iron. Le Pin is a wine produced in very limited quantities and is the result of an ambitious vinification process in small stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in new oak barrels for 18 months.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Le Pin is crafted with meticulous care. The hand-harvested grapes are carefully sorted before being destemmed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature regulation. Aging, which lasts approximately 18 months, occurs in oak barrels, some of which are new. This process imparts an elegant structure and subtle aromas to the wine, while preserving the purity of the fruit.
