The Château Lynch-Bages vineyard covers 100 hectares in the heart of Pauillac, planted on gravelly slopes typical of the Médoc. This terroir of deep gravel rests on a limestone and clay base, providing ideal natural drainage. The vines, averaging 30 years old, are cultivated using respectful practices, allowing for slow and even ripening of the grapes. This complex soil contributes directly to the wine's distinctive structure and elegance.

    Owner and history

Since 1939, the Cazes family has been at the helm of Château Lynch-Bages. Under the leadership of Jean-Charles Cazes, and now his son Jean-Charles, the estate has consistently invested in excellence. Their vision combines innovation, sustainability, and respect for the terroir, exemplified by the construction of a new, state-of-the-art winery in 2020. The Cazes family's commitment to quality has elevated Lynch-Bages to one of the most consistent and highly regarded Classified Growths of the Médoc.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Lynch-Bages combines technical precision with respect for the fruit. The grapes are harvested by hand and meticulously sorted. Each plot is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 75% of which are new, imparting finesse and aging potential. The 2022 vintage, sunny yet balanced, benefited from precise aging, revealing all the nobility of this Grand Cru Classé.
