    Owner and history

    Le domaine a été racheté par la Maison Chanel également propriétaire du Château Canon à Saint-Émilion et Château Berliquet. D'importants investissements financiers ont été faits pour le château. Ils entreprennent alors de poursuivre la rénovation du domaine, qui commençait déjà à porter ses fruits. En effet, si les jeunes vignes plantées par Philippe de Meslon produisent au début un vin décevant, elles retrouvent un niveau excellent dès les années 80. Les efforts fournis par les nouveaux détenteurs impulsent davantage encore l’ascension qualitative, épousant totalement le potentiel de ce vin puissant. Aujourd'hui, la direction technique du château est confiée au talentueux Nicolas Audebert.

    Vinification and aging

    Ce Second Grand Cru Classé s’étend sur 66 hectares au cœur de l’appellation Margaux. Son encépagement se compose de :
    60% de Cabernet-Sauvignon
    35% de Merlot
    3,5% de Petit-Verdot
    une touche de Cabernet-Franc
    Grâce à un terroir de graves fines et profondes, les vins produits sont riches et particulièrement fruités, d'une élégante finesse. Les méthodes traditionnelles de culture et de vinification procurent aux vins concentration, virilité et puissance. En outre, les propriétaires ont choisi une protection phytosanitaire en lutte raisonnée, cultivant même 4 hectares en bio depuis 2010.
