The Valdarno di Sopra appellation is one of the smallest appellations in Italy . Founded in 2011 in the Arno valley, it comprises only 65 hectares of vineyards planted with Italian and international grape varieties.
The Petrolo estate is the largest property in this appellation, covering 31 hectares. To ensure consistently high-quality wines, the appellation is expected to soon add a requirement for organic viticulture to its specifications, as the 31 hectares of the Petrolo estate are already certified organic.
