    Tasting notes

The Bollinger RD 2008 Champagne displays a brilliant golden hue with fine highlights. The nose is remarkably complex, blending dried fruit, toast, candied citrus zest, and hints of iodine. On the palate, the structure is precise and taut, with a delicate mousse and great purity. The finish is long and vibrant, marked by saline notes and an impressive mineral depth. A champagne of emotion, crafted for fine dining and special occasions.

    Food & wine pairings

Ideal with roasted lobster, seared scallops or aged Comté cheese.

    Producer

    Producer

Bollinger is distinguished by its 174 hectares spread across seven main vineyards, 85% of which are Grands and Premiers Crus, allowing the house to produce its own grapes for its blends. The signature grape variety, Pinot Noir, makes up 60% of the vineyard's plantings.

    Owner and history

Since its founding in 1829, Maison Bollinger has remained in the hands of the founding family, a guarantee of continuity and excellence. Today, Charles-Armand de Belenet, Managing Director, and his team perpetuate the vision of Lily Bollinger, a legendary figure in 20th-century Champagne. Their commitment is based on independence, exacting quality standards, and respect for the environment. The RD cuvée, first launched in 1967, embodies this quest for excellence: a complex, age-worthy Champagne, both bold and timeless, which continues to elevate Bollinger to the status of a global benchmark in the world of fine wines.

    Vinification and aging

This 2008 vintage champagne benefits from an aging period more than four times longer than the appellation requirements. This gives it exceptional richness and complexity.
