The Domaine Leflaive vineyard stretches across limestone and clay-limestone soils typical of Puligny-Montrachet, lending remarkable depth and tension to the wines. The vines in the Les Pucelles climat benefit from a privileged location adjacent to the Grands Crus, giving the Chardonnay incomparable aromatic richness and mineral precision. The average age of the vines and the constant care given to the vineyard ensure grapes of exceptional quality for this Premier Cru.

    Owner and history

Today managed by Brice de La Morandière, great-grandson of Joseph Leflaive, the Domaine continues the family legacy with rigor and passion. Trained in management and possessing an international perspective, he perpetuates the high standards of quality that have built the estate's reputation. His commitment to biodynamic farming, initiated in the 1990s, reflects a clear objective: to preserve the terroirs of Puligny-Montrachet and produce wines of timeless purity and elegance.

    Vinification and aging

At Domaine Leflaive, winemaking relies on gentle pressing, barrel fermentation, and extended aging with measured lees stirring, promoting balance and complexity. The 2018 Les Pucelles cuvée was aged for approximately 12 months in French oak barrels, a limited proportion of which were new, and then further refined for several months in tanks. This process guarantees a pure expression of the terroir, combining aromatic intensity, mineral precision, and refined elegance.
