Tasting notes

With a pale yellow robe and golden highlights, this Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent 2024 exudes aromas of citrus and white flowers. On the palate, it is ample and fresh, with a lovely mineral tension. The finish is persistent, leaving a delicate impression of flint and ripe fruit, indicating great aging potential.

The vineyard of Domaine William Fèvre It is situated on south-facing slopes, thus benefiting from excellent sun exposure. The soils are mainly composed of clay and limestone, typical of the Chablis appellation. A 17-hectare appellation on the right bank of the Serein, in the exact extension of the Côte des Grands Crus, separated by a simple path from Grand Cru Les Preuses, the appellation produces powerful and mineral wines. Marne with fairly deep soils. The plots represent 3.63 hectares, or 21.35% of the Vaulorent appellation, oriented from South-East to South-West.

Owner and history

2024 is a pivotal year for the Domaine William Fèvre, which has now come under the wing of Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), while retaining the technical direction of Didier Séguier, the guarantor of the house's refined and pure style. The current owners share a common passion for the terroir and quality, committed to producing wines that reflect the authenticity of Chablis. Their vision is to continue to make this shine. domaine iconic on the international stage, while respecting the winemaking traditions that have made it famous.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine William Fèvre is made with meticulous attention to detail. The hand-harvested grapes are gently pressed to extract the juice without compromising quality. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the freshness and aromas of the Chardonnay. Aging on fine lees for several months gives the wine a creamy texture and aromatic complexity. This meticulous process results in a Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent, which faithfully reflects its original terroir.

Chablis 1er Cru "Vaulorent" 2024 of Domaine William Fèvre He occupies a special place in the hierarchy of the house. He is the only one Premier Cru located on the right bank, nestled on the same hillside as the Grands Crus, from which it is separated only by a narrow path Grand Cru "Preuses".
