    Description

Domaine Adrien Renoir, located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims in Verzy, embodies a new generation of Champagne winemakers dedicated to artisanal excellence and biodynamic practices. Passionately carrying on the family tradition, Adrien works exclusively with Grand Cru vineyards, revealing their unique character with precision. The 2018 "Three Vineyards Wooden Case" is a limited-production cuvée, crafted with meticulous attention to detail from the emblematic parcels of Aÿ. This parcel-by-parcel approach, combined with careful winemaking, reflects true artistry, where each bottle becomes a faithful expression of its terroir, blending purity, tension, and refinement.

    Notes and pairings

    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

This 100% Chardonnay displays a golden hue with brilliant highlights. The nose opens elegantly with aromas of white flowers, yellow fruits, and a hint of iodine. On the palate, the texture is fine and taut, with vibrant energy and superb precision. The finish is long and saline, leaving a lingering mineral sensation reminiscent of the finest chalky terroirs of Champagne.

    Food & wine pairings

This Grand Cru Champagne enhances seafood dishes such as scallop carpaccio, oysters or sole meunière.

The grapes for this cuvée come exclusively from three Grand Cru vineyards in Aÿ. These specific plots, planted on clay-limestone soils resting on chalk, impart tension and complexity to the wine. The vines, cultivated according to biodynamic principles, benefit from natural ground cover and gentle farming practices, promoting soil health and allowing for the perfect expression of Pinot Noir. This respect for the terroir ensures raw materials of impeccable quality.

    Owner and history

Adrien Renoir represents the fourth generation of winemakers at the helm of the family estate. Since taking over in 2015, he has championed a philosophy focused on biodynamic practices and meticulous vineyard management. His vision: to craft distinctive Champagnes, deeply rooted in their terroir and imbued with a strong identity. His unwavering pursuit of purity and authenticity in winemaking, coupled with a strong environmental commitment, has made Adrien Renoir one of the most promising rising stars in Champagne.

    Vinification and aging

At Domaine Adrien Renoir, winemaking is minimally interventionist and geared towards preserving the terroir. Each plot is vinified separately, with spontaneous fermentations in old oak barrels.
For this 2018 vintage from three different vineyard sites, the wine underwent aging on its lees without racking for nearly a year, followed by three additional years of bottle aging on its lees. This meticulous process imparts to the Champagne its silky texture, depth, and unique character.
