The Origin: The Jewel of Avize This cuvée is a single-vineyard, single-cru wine. It comes exclusively from a small plot located in Avize, one of the most prestigious villages in the Côte des Blancs, classified Grand Cru. The name, "La Vigne aux Gamins" (The Kids' Vineyard), is a tribute to the passing down of knowledge. It is a plot of land... vieilles vignes that Stanislas and Garance Thiénot used to travel through as children. The Terroir: The soil here is a very pure, outcropping chalk. This chalk acts like a sponge and a thermal mirror, giving the Chardonnay an incomparable tension and saline minerality.

Owner and history

Founded by Alain Thiénot, the house is now run by his children, Garance and Stanislas Thiénot. They perpetuate the family spirit and commitment to excellence that characterize the brand. Their passion for wine and their attention to detail are reflected in each vintage, making Thiénot a house of Champagne unavoidable.

Vinification and aging

Maison Thiénot treats this vintage with meticulous care:

100% Chardonnay: A Blanc de Blancs pure.

Extended aging: The wine spent over 11 years on its lees in the estate's cellars before disgorgement. This exceptionally long resting period is key to the wine's complexity, allowing the vibrancy of the fruit to blend with elegant, evolving notes.

Dosage: Low (Extra-Brut), in order to let the terroir of Avize express itself without artifice.
