    Tasting notes

Château Cos d'Estournel 2014 displays an intense purple robe with garnet highlights. The nose, expressive and elegant, opens with notes of cedar, sweet spices, and jammy black fruits. On the palate, the wine is ample and structured, supported by precise tannins and a velvety texture. The finish, persistent and refined, marks a truly great vintage for aging, both energetic and elegant, typical of the finest Saint-Estèphe wines.

The Cos d'Estournel vineyard covers 91 hectares situated on deep, perfectly drained gravelly slopes resting on a limestone base. These ideal conditions for vines allow for optimal grape ripening. The old vines are cultivated using sustainable practices, with meticulous attention paid to soil management and natural ground cover. This unique terroir imparts structure, tension, and depth to the estate's exceptional wines.

    Owner and history

Since 2000, the estate has belonged to Michel Reybier, a passionate and discreet entrepreneur who has undertaken a profound transformation of the château while respecting its history. His vision is based on excellence, technical precision, and respect for the terroir. Thanks to significant investments in the vineyard and the winery, he has elevated Cos d'Estournel to the ranks of the world's greatest wines. His commitment is reflected in each vintage, where tradition and innovation blend perfectly.

    Vinification and aging

Château Cos d'Estournel practices plot-by-plot vinification in an ultra-modern gravity-flow winery, designed to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Each grape variety and each plot is vinified separately for a bespoke blend.
The 2014 vintage benefited from 18 months of aging in French oak barrels, approximately 60% of which were new. This meticulous process gives the wine its aromatic richness, silky texture, and exceptional aging potential.
