Tormaresca is owned by the family Antinori, a Florentine dynasty that has been producing wine for over six centuries. Passionate about the winemaking potential of Puglia, the Antinori have invested in this region to create quality wines that reflect the unique identity of this terroir. Their commitment to innovation and sustainability is reflected in environmentally friendly viticultural practices and modern winemaking techniques.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for the Tormaresca Salento Masseria Maime Negroamaro 2018 is carried out with care and precision to preserve the integrity of the fruit and best express the terroir's potential. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, then destemmed and gently crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a maceration of varying lengths to extract tannins and aromas. Aging occurs partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in oak barrels to impart complexity and elegance to the wine. After blending, the wine is bottled and aged for a few months before release.
