THE Champagne Louis Roederer — Collection 247 represents the latest evolution of the iconic style of the House of Reims, continuing the conceptual shift undertaken since the replacement of the historic Brut First.

The figure 247 indicates that it is the 247th assembly produced by the company since its foundation in 1776. Built around the 2022 vintage (which constitutes the majority of the basic harvest), This champagne with great precision illustrates Louis Roederer's adaptation to climate change through the creation of a "Perpetual Reserve" and the use of reserve wines aged in oak.

Free from any imposed structure, and exclusively focused on the pursuit of the finest wine each year, the House places the art of blending at the heart of its approach more than ever; a blend of terroirs, origins, and wines. Each edition of the Collection can thus be considered a creative laboratory for the House, revealing its expertise through continuous adaptation. True to its roots, the House strives to reflect its historical origins: one-third vineyards on the river, one-third on the mountain, and one-third on the slopes. All the Collection parcels, originating from Louis Roederer estates and long-standing partnerships, have been redefined, retaining only those best suited to its identity, firmly rooted in the heart of the Champagne terroir.

    Owner and history

Founded in Reims in 1776, Maison Louis Roederer is one of the very few great houses of Champagne remaining family-oriented and independent. This unique characteristic profoundly structures its identity. It gives it the freedom to think long-term, to make coherent choices, to embrace boldness, and to place quality above all other considerations. In the 19th century, the House established itself among the great names of champagne and is expanding internationally, particularly in Russia. In 1876, it entered into legend with the creation of Cristal for Tsar Alexander II, the first prestige cuvée in the history of Champagne. This ability to combine intuition, high standards and international influence is permanently part of Louis Roederer's DNA.

    Vinification and aging

Collection 247 – the 247th collection from the House since its creation in 1776 – is thus based on a multi-millésimé, Sourced from a selection of carefully chosen parcels in the heart of the Champagne terroir, with a focus on sustainable viticultural practices, this unique signature, rich with the nuances of the 2022 harvest, finds added freshness and complexity in a Perpetual Reserve, while remaining true to the Louis Roederer style thanks to a wide selection of reserve wines aged in French oak casks.

    The team's opinion

Collection 247 is based on the 2022 harvest (70% of the blend), a sunny vintage of exceptional ripeness, masterfully balanced by the freshness of the house's reserve wines. Ready to be enjoyed upon release for its lusciousness, it possesses the structure necessary to improve in the cellar for 5 to 12 years (until 2035+).
