The vineyards of Champagne Goulard benefits from an exceptional terroir, ideal for the flourishing of Champagne grape varieties. The type of soil and the climat Specific characteristics of the region contribute to the typicity and quality of the grapes.

Owner and history

Located in Prouilly, in the Massif de Saint-Thierry (northwest of Reims), the Goulard family has been cultivating vines since the late 19th century. Damien Goulard, now at the helm, works with meticulous precision, prioritizing respect for the soil and plot-by-plot vinification.

Vinification and aging

This champagne is a celebration of Meunier, the king of grape varieties in this geographical area, which brings all its deliciousness here.

Grape variety: 100% Meunier (Pure Meunier).

Method: Rosé de Saignée (maceration for 12 to 24 hours depending on the ripeness of the harvest). This technique requires perfect mastery to extract the color and aromas without adding overly rustic tannins.

Terroir: Sandy-loam and clay-limestone soils of Prouilly, which give the Meunier a fruity roundness and a beautiful suppleness.

The team's opinion

La cuvée "L'Éclatante" from Maison JM Goulard is a Champagne Rosé de Saignée, which lives up to its name admirably. Unlike the majority of rosé champagnes obtained by blending (mixing white and red wine), this one comes from a short maceration of the berries, which gives it a strong personality and a deep color.
