    Description

"Cain Field Grand Cru 2014 is a Champagne Exquisitely precise. Long aging on the lees has given it a magnificent texture and great complexity. Dried pear, chamomile, dried flowers, and delicate hazelnut notes enhance this 2014. With a little time in the glass, the more mineral and austere profile of Avize begins to express itself. The zero-dosage style works perfectly in this Champagne Light and precise." Antonio Galloni, Vinous, 95pts/100

"A creamy style with buttery aromas of lemon curd, a brioche-like character, and an almost cheesy depth. A fine mousse. On the palate, a light texture carried by a lively, zesty, and lemony acidity. A fresh finish with mineral accents.." James Suckling, 93 points/100

    Owner and history

For more than two centuries, Champagne Jacquesson cultivates the art of wine Champagne with passion, exacting standards, and creativity. Founded in 1798 in Châlons-sur-Marne by Claude and Memmie Jacquesson, the House is one of the oldest in the region. In the 19th century, the House experienced meteoric growth. At the origin of this golden age was Adolphe Jacquesson, an inspired director and visionary inventor. In 1844, he revolutionized the world of... champagne by patenting the wire cage, the small wire still used today to hold the cork in place. This also contributed, at the time, to revolutionizing champagne-making techniques with the famous Jules Guyot. Under Adolphe Jacquesson's direction, a certain Johann Joseph Krug held the position of cellar master before founding the eponymous house. Jacquesson's renown also grew thanks to a persistent rumor: the champagne Jacquesson would be Napoleon I's favorite. After navigating a more challenging late 19th and early 20th centuries, the house was acquired by the de Tassigny family in 1924. They contributed to the redevelopment and revitalization of Jacquesson. The house's spirit of innovation has endured through the ages. In 1974, the Chiquet family took over and installed the domaine in Dizy. For nearly 50 years, Jean Chiquet, then his sons Laurent and Jean-Hervé, breathed new life into the House, placing precision and terroir at the heart of their approach. This quest for excellence is reflected, in particular, in the creation of Cuvée No. 700, which has become an inspiration throughout the region. Champagne and an international benchmark. At the end of 2022, Jacquesson joined the Artémis Domaines group, owned by the Pinault and Henriot La Rouzière families. Under the leadership of Frédéric Engerer, Managing Director of Artémis Domaines, and Jean Garandeau, Managing Director of Jacquesson, the team continues to meticulously attend to every detail and perpetuate the vision of its predecessors: a free and audacious spirit that remains deeply rooted in the Champagne.
