Producer

Producer

Marlborough Wild Sauvignon Blanc comes from vines located in the Marlborough region, renowned for its climat Cool and sunny, ideal for growing Sauvignon Blanc. The terroir, which remains undisclosed, plays a vital role in the unique expression of this wine. The soils, also undisclosed, contribute to the wine's minerality and aromatic complexity. The vineyard's exposure and the cultivation practices implemented by Greywacke result in grapes of exceptional quality, which are then vinified with the utmost care.

Owner and history

Kevin Judd, founder and owner of Greywacke, is an iconic figure in New Zealand wine. Drawing on his experience at Cloudy Bay, he created Greywacke to express his own vision of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. His passion for the terroir and his commitment to quality are reflected in every bottle. Kevin Judd is a passionate and talented winemaker who has elevated Greywacke to the ranks of Marlborough's finest names.

Vinification and aging

The Marlborough Wild Sauvignon Blanc is made using a minimalist approach to preserve the terroir's expression as much as possible. The grapes are hand-harvested and meticulously sorted. Fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels to enhance the wine's aromas and texture. Aging on fine lees for several months adds richness and complexity. The wine is then bottled unfiltered to preserve its authenticity.
