    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

The 2013 La Turque presents a deep, dark robe with garnet highlights. The nose seduces with intense aromas of ripe black fruit, licorice, and spices. On the palate, the texture is ample and velvety, supported by a noble and perfectly balanced tannic structure. The aromatic persistence is remarkable, with a long and elegant finish where notes of precious wood and pepper emerge, a signature of great Côte-Rôtie wines from Guigal.

    Food & wine pairings

Ideal with roast game, a rack of lamb with herbs or a matured rib of beef, it also enhances dishes with black truffles.

The La Turque vineyard is situated on a steep, south-facing slope, with soils rich in schist and iron oxides. These soils impart depth and aromatic intensity to the wine. The Syrah vines, blended with a touch of Viognier, benefit from optimal sunshine and limited yields, allowing for a concentration of aromas. This unique terroir, meticulously cultivated by the Guigal family, is the source of this prestigious vintage's distinctive character.

    Owner and history

Today, the Domaine E. Guigal is headed by Philippe Guigal, continuing his grandfather's legacy, his passion for wine and his attachment to the land are at the heart of his approach. He is committed to producing exceptional wines while respecting the environment. Vinification and aging

Guigal practices meticulous winemaking, blending tradition and modernity, with long fermentations that allow for the extraction of the quintessence of fruit and structure. Aging takes place in new oak barrels, imparting complexity and length.
For La Turque 2013, this aging process lasts 40 months, resulting in exceptional aromatic richness and a velvety texture. This cuvée is distinguished by remarkable concentration, controlled power, and rare elegance, characteristics that make it one of the finest expressions of Côte-Rôtie.
