Certified organic since 1971, the Domaine Georges Laval uses natural methods to cultivate healthy vines and high-quality grapes. Winemaking is very traditional: hand-harvesting, natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, and aging in oak barrels. domaine intervenes as little as possible in the cellar, thus allowing the natural character of the grapes and the terroir to fully express itself in its wines. THE domaine produces a range of Champagnes, primarily blends of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. These wines are renowned for their purity, complexity, and depth. Located in the Marne Valley, in Champagne, THE domaine has forged a reputation for excellence thanks to its exceptional Champagnes, reflections of their terroir. The Laval family has cultivated vines in the region since the late 19th century, and the domaine, as we know it today, was officially founded by Georges Laval in 1971. Now run by his son, Vincent Laval, the domaine perpetuates the family tradition of organic viticulture and the production of high-quality Champagnes.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking methods of Champagne Laval Les Longues Violes 2016 are imbued with tradition and modernity.
“Les Longues Violes” evokes the “Long Path” of passion traced by generations of sensible, respectful, caring, thoughtful, sensitive winemakers.
The legendary Longues Violes plot has belonged to the Laval family for several generations. Its soil is untouched by any application of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers; my ancestors never used any.
From 2003 to 2020, no fertilizer was applied to the soil; the richness of the flora and the activity of the fauna testify to the natural harmony of this land. This is unique in Champagne.
The massal selections of Meunier were planted in 1947 (rootstock 3309C), those of Pinot Noir in 1964 (rootstock 41B) and 1984 (rootstock SO4).
