Tasting notes

This 2021 Chenas displays a brilliant ruby color. On the nose, it exudes aromas of fresh red fruits, cherry, and raspberry, delicately enhanced with floral notes. On the palate, the attack is supple and fruity, supported by a lovely acidity. The tannins are silky, and the finish is persistent, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness and deliciousness. A balanced and harmonious red wine.

A Moulin-à-Vent style wine, with a beautiful, bright ruby color. The Chénas grape has a peony note. A wine for long aging, elegant, refined, and distinguished.

Owner and history

Christophe Pacalet, head of the domaine, He embodies the new generation of Beaujolais winemakers. Drawing on his family heritage and his experience working alongside Marcel Lapierre, he is committed to producing authentic and environmentally conscious wines. His passion and expertise are reflected in every bottle, making his wines essential benchmarks of Beaujolais.

Vinification and aging

Harvest: Hand-picked. The grapes, carefully sorted, are transported in 25-kilo crates.
Winemaking: Cold carbonic maceration of whole bunches without SO2 with indigenous yeasts for 10 to 20 days depending on the vintage, manual decanting followed by pressing on a vertical wooden press.
Aging: On fine lees, without SO2, in 228-litre barrels for 6 to 9 months.
