Producer

Producer

THEChâteau Mouton-Rothschild owns a 90-hectare vineyard in the heart of the Médoc. Its terroir of gravel, pebbles, and gravel retains the sun's heat. The wines are powerful, crafted for la garde. Only wine from the finest plots, the oldest vines, and the most exceptional vats is selected for the Grand Vin blend, and therefore deserves the name of Château Mouton Rothschild.

Owner and history

THE Château Mouton Rothschild is much more than a simple domaine wine-growing; it is a Bordeaux legend, marked by a strong family history and an inseparable link with art. La Baronne Philippine de Rothschild, modernized the domaine until his death in 2014. Today, his three children — Camille Sereys de Rothschild, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild and Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild — jointly manage the property.

Vinification and aging

In 2019, the winemaking process aimed to preserve the freshness of the Cabernet grapes despite a hot summer. The result is a powerful yet exceptionally velvety tannic structure, with a well-integrated alcohol level (around 13.5% - 14%).

It is this meticulous attention, from the plot to the barrel, that has allowed this vintage to obtain near-perfect scores from critics such as Robert Parker and James Suckling.

The team's opinion

Visually: A deep, intense purple dress, almost opaque, with purplish highlights that testify to its youth. On the nose: A complex and explosive bouquet. Intense notes of black fruits (blackcurrant, wild blackberry, black cherry) mingle with hints of licorice, graphite, and cedar. With aeration, nuances of violet and blond tobacco emerge. On the palate: The attack is opulent and fleshy. The wine is dense, yet exceptionally elegant thanks to its silky, perfectly polished tannins. The finish is incredibly long, marked by a saline minerality and a lingering aromatic intensity of fresh fruit.
